I know I said I wanted to keep money rather abstract, but this is one of those points where your currency is integral to the story. I need to know what you can afford and what you are carrying. What follows is an invisible post for each of you. I have started each with what I believe to be your current cash. I have re-read the old threads and made some assumptions. If you believe this to be in error, let me know and I will make adjustments; I'm pretty easy-going.
DO NOT respond to this thread. Only respond to your individual thread. You may use the thread throughout the campaign to keep a running total of your assets.
Please list whatever equipment, arms or armor you may also have. Once you are in the wilds, it will be harder to convince me that you had something but didn't list it.
Please post any requests for things not on the price list.
I have listed assets in the format XgXsXc, for gold, silver and copper. If you all would prefer, we can simply say $X, where X is the equivalent in silver dollars. Thus 5g8s4c=$58.40

I need a new cloak, lost mine to the carnobroc, but I have no more coin. Don't want to use the stolen gems while in Talon authority. With all the carnage and fighting that had been happening is it posible I could have found one or taken one from some fallen body.
Also for clarification, I have weapon familiarity small blades, I was wondering what the largest blade I could use without the -3 mod would be. If I can use a short sword and can find one that isn't conspicuous I would pick it up as well.

Small blades would probably not include anything seen as a main weapon, i.e. short sword. However, it's a minor quiblle and I don't see a problem with it.
As for finding a weapon. Any weapon taken from a fallen body would be stamped as property of the Tallon Army and would not only be difficult to sell, but illegal and punishable to possess.
As for the cloak, Mako gave the whole party new ones (even the non-combatant NPCs). They're no fancy, but they are nice and durable.

ok, thanks. Can you give me some general advice on what other equipment I would have figured out to have for basic survival over the past 6 months?

Also, is it possible to put something into my character that would have me produce up to 3 things that would sort of indicate that Vagrant has the necessary thing for the immediate need. In superheroic terms, sort of like a gadget pool with a luck roll or something. "Ah, I just happen to have what you need right here..."

It's nothing magical just a way to describe his ability to bring forth the necessary equipment in a bad situation.

If we had designed that power into his character in the first place, I might, just might allow it. However, I think the idea sounds cool, so here's my compromise.
List out every last knick knack your character is carrying (within reason). If you need to produce some small item like you're describing, I will let you trade three previously undisclosed items in order to have it on your person. Once you've shown or used it, however, it's permanent.
As for what you're carrying, that's up to you. Think typical D&D adventurer stuff and start there. I remember you made a list of junk you were carrying at one time.

Funny looking how? They're perfectly fine looted silver pieces. No one has questioned my money so far have they?

I have: the falchion, a whip, my clothing, (top, bottom, belt, boots, wrist bracers of some sort), boot knives (one in each boot)....and not much else, I was shipwrecked you know..... : )( oh, and the sea maps are stashed away on the unnamed island......if i ever get back up that way, they may be worth something.)(Any gems in the hilt of the falchion I could perhaps pry out and sell?)

Actually it won't matter much as I will most likely be spending the last two on a meal and a beer.....by then I'll just have coppers left probably.....unless there is something weird about my "funny looking" silver......????

I just meant they're not Tallonese mint. For some bizarre reason, the Savage Earth, like all fantasy rpg worlds everywhere, mints coins across thousands of miles of geography and throughout recorded history. Yet somehow, these coins are always interchangeable. 1 gp = 1 gp.

It's a mystery...

It's possible they might be funny looking to someone in Tallon, but no one is going to refuse them because of the way they look... Just checking because I'm really hungry......I now have 2s left until I come back from the "Big Prawn".....

I think it likely that your character owns and carries a small variety of woodworking tools. This would probably include:
several small knives, including a draw knife, chisel and a gouge
A small hatchet, the back of which would serve as a hammer
a couple of rasps
oil and polishing cloths
small whetstone
This would likely be wrapped in a oilcloth case. No charge for this; it is background equipment and not something you would likely have had to purchase.

I can let most of that stuff be on your person. However, you started the game on a midnight errand and only had time to grab dagers and gold before you left. Unless you can think of a compelling reason why you would have had the bedroll, backpack and whetstone already on you., you'll probably have to buy replacements.

Gotcha! Actually, I was thinking the money was in the pack, but I can see about the bedroll : )

Given the revised list you provided, how about having the following:
Sword (presumably Broadsword, based on enhanced STR 13)
Daggers (I believe 2, since my 3rd was stolen, grrr : ) )
Belt pouch
20 Matches in waterproof box (I assume this is fairly small, could have had on my person?)
Cloak & clothes

Then I would look to buy:
Backpack (3s)
Bedroll (swear I saw it on the list before, but no more, use blanket price?) (1s)
Additional clothes (3s)
8 Bandages (8c)
3 days Trail Rations (to keep in reserve) (3s)
Drinkskin (2c)
3 Candles (3c)
1 Sack (1c)
Whetstone (don't see on the list, how about 1s?) (1s)

200 of those 4inch red yarn pieces, 2 of each kind of specially marked arrow, black, white, yellow. One kid's noise-maker that you whirl on a stick. (from our previous discussion).

(From Faliol the Fox document) Personal armor Def 2, Act 11 or less. A broadsword, a long bow usable with 13 str, 2 doz arrows (not including the special ones), a knife, backpack, several days worth of trail rations, flint/steel, small 2-fox tent, several pouches.

What I forgot in my earlier haste - a small canteen, a thin, strong rope about 25 feet, clothing looks like my picture, all green.

Question - do beasts need raincoats? Wouldn't they severely over-heat in one?

Faliol buys 1 canteen for 9 copper (1S - 10%)
" " 1 rope, 25 feet for 9 copper (1S - 10%)
" " 1 oil cloak for 4.5 silver (5S - 10%)

That leaves 18 Silver and 7 copper.

Keith, this is a good idea, (the rolling Bank messages). Me like!

Kent's pay

Kent paid Faliol and Jareek 40s, 4g.

Faliol had 3G, 6S, 8C after Rath's inheritance.

He wishes (groan, damn DNPC) to split his total money 50/50 with Jareek. BUT he knows that Jareek will drink it all up in a couple of days, leaving them both broke. Faliol has a system whereby he pays Jareek's rent and a kind old widow to feed the old fox. He also pays a friendly barkeep to space out Jareek's liquor. So Jareek doesn't touch the money, but gets the use out of it. Probably why the old fox was trying to scout for Kent at the beginning - to get some cash of his own.

So, 5G, 8S, 4C will be spent on Jareek when they return to Tallon.

5G, 8S, 4C will be kept by Faliol as his own.

My DNPC is damn expensive!

I've spent a few dollars in various places. I have no idea, how much, though.

Any way we could hammer out how much money Riccoco has for future dealings in Adala?

I believe he spent some money in various AleHouses and a head price for getting over a river.

Does that sound right?

I had $28.60

What do I have now?

I've been searching around the Storyboard.

Ricco bought one, maybe two rounds, at the first Alehouse they found in Adala at 1 cp a piece. There were four of us. That would be 8 copper max.

Now, in Hole Market, Ricco slipped out a 'fat coin' to pay for Ricco and Faliol's drinks as well as loosen the Bunny waitress' tongue.

I figure a silver is what the 'fat coin' was but, it's negotiable.

If it was a silver, Ricco has spent 1.80 since his shopping spree leaving Tallon. We'll average it to 2$ so, he is rich at

$26.60.

Does that sound right to you?

Since Fort Lizard was on Mako's dime, that sounds fine. Go ahead and add the figures you just gave me in line with your regular sub-thread on this thread so I can find them easier in the future.
BTW, if Dan can make it possible for me to update the skin on my own, I plan to have a link directly to the Bank thread.

In the interim, I've just added a link to my favorites. It seems to work relatively well. Considering.

; )

I must say... It's great to have you back, Keith.
