Mako bids you to close the door. Once secure, he collapses heavily on one of the low wooden benches. He lets out a low sigh and gingerly begins removing the armor on his torso.
"I understand you are a healer," he begins. "I can't afford to pass out out there. Whatever you can do to make this manageable, I'll take. That's number one.
"Number two is a little more complicated. I was pretty light out there about what we can expect. I know Houma, and he wouldn't put all his resources in one assault. I only counted maybe seven riven out there. That's about half. The other half are busy doing something. Can you read the psyches of the recently deceased?"

"My psychic abilities do not encompass such as of yet, perhaps Master Ash can perform a reading. But I can try to heal you, how much time do you anticipate we have? I would want to take about an hour if possible, to increase the chances of success. I could try more quickly and repeatedly with a lesser likelihood, but I've just finished another healing, and it wouldn't be wise for me to be too drained."

Mako finishes removing armor and gear. He has a bright red wound on the lower right side of his torso. It may be near enough the side to have missed any vital organs, or it may not. It is slowly but steadily oozing blood from both front and back (entry and exit).

"Save your energy for later, then. It may be critical, and I can't afford to spare an hour." He looks at his wound. "Pretty, eh? Came in here 'cause it doesn't do good for morale to see holes in your C.O."

He turns to Cas. "Miss Vixen, you seem unusually attached to Master Nuyok right now. Could you at least leave his side long enough to stick your head out the door and call for that raccoon? He runs almost as fast as his tongue, and I need someone to fetch the doctor up here."

Back to Nuyok, "Master Ash can't read the dead. It's pretty rare and specialized work as you know. It would just be real handy to have here, since we have a couple of corpses with secrets. Houma's not finished tonight, but I think he honestly expected that gate to fall. Nearly did."

OOC: In regards to the visibility of this thread, I honestly thought I had restricted it. No harm done, since no real secret info was being passed. I'll leave it as is, but just be aware that this thread does take place in a closed room.

Cas disappears long enough to pass the message to Riccoco and comes back hopefully with the coon.

Riccoco silps in behind Cas, his leathery paws rubbing in anticipation.

Riccoco glances down at his 'belly' and back up. His face screws up painfully and his paws drop to hang at his side as he lays eyes on Mako. "That be a stickin' for certain, Master Mako... Master Nuyok. This 'coon wonderin' what he can be doin' to help in here..."

.oO(Riccoco! You be needin' to get into that Hotel and stay there! Fightin' be no place for a simple peddler!)

Mako looks at the horror-struck counenance of the raccoon and makes a small grimace. "It's not that bad. It's clean through muscle, far as I can tell. I need someone to fetch the doctor from the infirmary double quick, though. This needs to be closed up right and I can't afford to leave the gate right now. Those little legs carry you at a good speed. Can I depend on you?"

Ricco nods emphatically after tossing Nuyok a quick glance.

.oO(This 'coon be wonderin' why the Mako not be gettin' healin' from Nuyok... Mayhap, he knows a bit about the killin' Tallon way? No... The Healer shown his colors. Let it be, Riccoco.)

After a short pause, Ricco nods again, "This 'coon'll take a run to the doctor. He'll bring him back speedy-quick!" and the 'coon bolts out the door.

"Very well then. I could also try more quickly, perhaps 5-10 minutes, but chances of success would be maybe 50-50. If you wish, I'll make the effort though. If not, so be it. Regardless, what is the plan now, continue the waiting game? Any reports from other areas, such as the harbor?"

Mako replies, "I have a good sharp-eyed detail at the harbor. We should hear a horn blow if there is any trouble. Also, unless I miss my guess, your companions seem to be initiative takers. I wouldn't be surprised if they're not strolling off that way even now."
He begins to stand, and his face grows pale. He sits again quickly. "Enh. Lost a bit more of the red stuff than I thought. OK, if you think you can spare the energy, I need to stay conscious. When the doctor gets here, he can wrap it up in a pretty bow and keep it protected. Let's see your talents."
He lies back on the bench and bares his wound. On close examination, it appears much more serious than he was letting on.

"Clearly you need it, I'll make the attempt. Remember, no guarantees." Nuyok will see that Mako gets in a comfortable position, and will begin the 5-10 min process of attempting to heal Mako.

Nuyok's nimble fingers play over the wound. To no surprise, Mako's morphia is strong and thus more resistant to alteration. Though the master's skills are good, the wound remains.
Mako looks down at the work. "Nice try. Maybe we can give it another shot during the day. For some reason, these buggers like night attacks. I'll wait for the raccoon. You got my leave unless you have any questions."

Cas who has mostly been quiet this time finally speaks up, "I'm have seen wounds like that before. You need to take it easy for now. Do you have something you can do to eaze your mind?"

"As I expected, but certainly worth the try. But that's why we have physicians," Nuyok says with a smile/grimace. "Between this and my earlier work, though, I should get some rest. If you need me, I'll be in the inn for a bit, and then head to Master Ash's for a few hours of rest."

To Cas, "Interested in going to the inn?," Nuyok says with a look a unfinished business.

Nuyok will also want to try to find Handle, if he's around, and mention this to Cas once outside, so we can check into this Horn fellow some more.
