This thread continues the last thread, as it was getting a bit large. I am continuing the conversations from last thread, and setting up a new thread for the guard shifts. Hopefully this will all make sense. If this works, I'll have links set up from the old thread to the new one.

Celeste was talking to Arkis, trying to get him to open up.
Celeste looks at Arkis for a moment before replying, "You are no more suspicious than I. You cannot have missed the fact that I have avoided you and still kept an eye on you. Your skill with a weapon and your...choice of words confirm that you are what you say. But to answer your question, you must know what I am...what I was... A great wrong was done to someone I cared about. Let me just say this for now, that during my brief time in this land and because of my friends here, I have learned to temper my need for 'revenge' into something less...'savage'. I will avenge the wrong done, but not as a blood-thirsty animal."

'I am not sighted like Master Nuyok or yourself, but you seem to me to be a man in need of friendship." Celeste gestures to the caravan members from Tallon, "These people here are good people, Perhaps you should get to know them. It is a long journey from here to Tallon."

He actually seems to relax a little at your explanation.
"It is indeed a long journey. There's no telling what could happen along the way. As for being sighted, well, if you must know... Yes, I have the sight. I would have preferred not to call attention to it, but there it is. As for friendship, my friends are all dead. Some day I may collect others, but for now, the wounds are too fresh."

As Arkis speaks of his friends being dead, memories of lost Rath come to Celeste's mind. "I understand, I...we lost a friend back in that city, he died too young." There is a peculiar roughness in Celeste's voice as images of Rath come flooding back to her. Though it may be difficult to see in the dark, there is a wetness on her face that catches the reflection of the fire. Celeste takes a deep breath, "We will be travelling back to Tallon by way of Fort Lizard, there is a wise man there, Father Jeo. You might want to seek him out. I am sorry about your loss. I...I have to go now...." Celeste stands and moves away out of sight of Arkis and the others. Silently she grieves for her lost friend as she has not been able to until now.

Celeste eventually returns to the campsite. She casts a quick glance in Arkis' direction, but does not attempt to engage him in conversation again. As the travellers begin to turn in for the night, she will lay down her bed roll as well, but sleep does not come quickly.

BEKA: I think he's right. It looks as if you would make a great scout for our travels. Would you mind sitting down and telling me how you came to be in that "fix" with Nuyok? I'd like to know more about you.

Yes, I would like you to see how the scouting goes on the way to Tallon. We can decide from there how or if you want to continue employment. What about the riven thing? I'm really not beoing rude, I personally don't care, but I need to know before we hit the city.

I take it from your silence that you are Riven. I will have to keep that in mind when we get to Tallon and we will have to see how well you can disguise it. Why don't you see if you can work with Niyok and Vagrant to make your entrance into the city easier. If you have any questions, I will be happy to talk about Tallon with you.

Nuyok strolls up, and mentions "actually, Lekchock is a mutant, much like Umbra, so he should present no difficulties," obviously thinking of Rath but making no mention of him.
